Service Offerings

While we pride ourselves on offering unparalleled service before and after the sale, we also have offerings designed to help you get the most out of your existing system or expand its capabilities. In addition to the common services listed below we can also assist with room design, structured wiring design and installation, data networks, whole-home audio systems, and solutions to the ever-present need to conceal parts of your system for reasons of aesthetics or safety.

Music Server Design and Setup
It's no secret that the CD's days as the dominant music delivery device are numbered. Fortunately, computer-based playback systems have come a long way in the past couple of years and now offer a level of performance that exceeds most disc-based playback systems. As an added benefit large music libraries are easily cataloged and searched which makes discovering new music in your existing collection a breeze. Unfortunately, computer-based playback systems can be complicated to setup and configure, but we have you covered with our server design and setup service.

This is a completely custom offering which is tailored to the needs of each individual client. In general the package consists of the following:

1. Operating system load and optimization for either the Mac or Windows platforms (or both).
2. Assistance with network configuration as needed.
3. Installation and configuration of drivers as needed by your particular DAC.
4. Installation and configuration of the appropriate playback software. We prefer JRiver on Windows and Audirvana + on Mac.
5. Design of a filing system that meets your needs and listening habits.
6. For UPnP-based streaming devices we'll setup and configure the appropriate server software.
7. Setup of an appropriate control device (smartphone, laptop, or tablet).
8. Setup of an appropriate mechanism for backup of your server and music library.
9. Setup of an appropriate mechanism to rip your CD collection onto your server.
10. Training on how to use the system.

As this is a custom offering we can accommodate almost any special request and even provide a facility for remote support of your server.

Turntable Setup / Tune-up
Any new turntable / arm / cartridge combination purchased from Esoteric Audio includes complimentary setup. Of course many of our clients have tables that were purchased elsewhere or have been in-service long enough to benefit from a tune-up. We're happy to assist with your setup needs and offer a service package which includes the following:

1. Check and adjust leveling of the turntable stand, plinth, and armboard.
2. Lubrication of bearings (if recommended by manufacturer).
3. Visual inspection of cartridge using a microscope to identify abnormal stylus wear or suspension issues.
4. Check and adjustment of major cartridge alignment parameters (overhang, zenith, azimuth, VTF, VTA/SRA, and anti-skate).
5. Cleaning and tightening of cartridge clips (if needed).
6. Cartridge demagnetization.
7. Check and adjustment of dampening fluid (if needed).
8. Replacement of belt and platter speed check (if needed).
9. Listening test before and after to ensure that adjustments have addressed any identified issues.
